Clafy is built with your privacy in mind. We collect only what's necessary to make the app work, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and username (nickname). When you use the app, we store your health profile preferences, avoided ingredients, and scan history. We do not collect your location, contacts, or any other device data.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, a cloud database provider. Access is restricted so that only you can read or modify your own data. We do not have access to your password — it is encrypted by Supabase Auth.

Product data

Product information (ingredients, nutrition facts, images) is sourced from Open Food Facts, a free and open community-maintained database. This data is not linked to your account and is not stored beyond the duration of your scan session.

How we use your data

Your health profile and avoided ingredients are used solely to calculate personalised ratings for the products you scan. Your scan history is stored so you can revisit past scans. We do not analyse your data for advertising or any other purpose.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. This removes all your personal data — including your email, username, health profile, avoided ingredients, and scan history — from our database immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you within the app. Continued use of Clafy after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
